EASTERN RETURN

My artistic journey has led me to create a psychological technique that uses silk screening, chalcography, and photo etching to represent the subconscious, semi-conscious, and conscious aspects of one’s mind. In this method, the silk screen (subconscious) is the most influential part of the artwork, as this layer reveals and influences how our early memories and experiences shape us. The next layer (chalcography) is less impactful and finally the photo etching or conscious layer, which creates a strong impression on the paper with the press, casts a subtle shadow over the previous layers. This reflects how we attempt to change ourselves as adults.

The Eastern Return actually refers directly to the female gender in the Eastern culture, which women always try to endure the pressures that are added to their lives every day and engage their souls, always remain resistant and endure the pain of pressure with their culture and society. Be in conflict, which here has tried to show the pressure applied both physically and mentally.
