Harrison Beckenstein

Since the age of two I have had a passion for the fine arts, especially painting. I studied art in Connecticut as a student of Joanne and Bruce Hunter of the Art Spot, at Ridgefield Guild of Artists, and I am currently working in the RPAC studio with Greg Mursko, and Charles Goldbransen. I am a junior at Ridgefield High School studying Advanced Art Projects under Dana Phelan in preparation for AP Art next year. I plan to continue studying fine art in college. During the pandemic, I wanted to share the same solace and joy I receive from the arts so I established Art by Harrison Beckenstein (ABHB). I am also an art volunteer at Sphere in Ridgefield, an organization that helps improve the lives of mentally and physically disabled adults through educational and social enrichment activities.

Art has always been a way for me to express myself and deal with everyday challenges. My work has changed over the course of several years and I think most of the pieces in this show represent time periods in my life, hence the name “Timeline of Thought.” I am grateful for the positive responses from people who use my paintings to lift their spirits and decorate their homes - and I am happiest when people look at my art, pause, reflect, and smile.
